Still Here

There is not much to report around here.  It seems that we have three nice days and then three days of rain and then another three days to get back to the nice weather again.

I am not feeling to creative these days.  I guess I have too much time on my hands so I am inclined to waste it.  I have been experimenting with encaustics and I have several works in the holding stage.  Maybe something will come out of it.

Took a ride to Plymouth today but as I said earlier, it was raining.  Lots of tourists around.

I have to confess that for some reason I did not take a lot of pictures in Provincetown but here are a few.

Provincetown Pics

While in Provincetown, I stayed at a bed and breakfast as there was not room at the inn where the Encaustic conference was held.  I enjoyed a 15 minute walk each morning and passed some wonderful old and historic houses.  This is Hans Hofmann's house and studio where he painted and taught  many famous artists.

Home Again

Home again from the Encaustic Conference in Provincetown.  There is so much to process and there was so much to take in.  So much art and plenty of things to see.  I am still sorting thru what I brought home and I will be posting some pictures.

All I can say at this time was that the art was incredible.  Several galleries featured encaustic works and who knew that there were so many ways to use hot wax.  I attended several seminars and demonstrations and took plenty of notes so I hope I can carry this information into works of art.

The weather was fabulous but it was really cold.  The food at the hotel left much to be desired (I mean who closes the kitchen down on a Saturday night when there is a convention?)  I am sure that this was a universal complaint on the evaluation form.

More about this in the days to come.

Road Trip!

I am off to Provincetown for the Encaustic Conference.  I haven't been to Ptown for over 35 years.  I hear it has changed a great deal.

I plan to take in the sights and take lots of pictures and maybe do some plein aire painting/sketching.  I also want to stop at the Truro dunes.  Should be a fun weekend.  See you on Monday!

A Nothing Day

Not much to report.  I have been working on a large Zentangle and still trying to fix some things from my class critique.  I have a new project started but have not had the time to put paint to the canvas.  I have been thinking about doing it in Dunkin Donuts colors or blues and browns that the teachers loved so much.
